ANNOUNCEMENT FROM ARCHIE GRIFFINÂ
Ginny Trethewey has served with distinction as chief operating officer for The Ohio State University Alumni Association for the past seven years, overseeing the day-to-day business operations of one of the largest dues-paying alumni associations in the country. During this time, Ginny has made significant contributions to our member-centered organization and helped guide the organization through one of the most significant changes in the Alumni Association's 132-year history to forge a more powerful relationship with the university from which she earned her law degree and would later serve as general counsel. Many of you know the role Ginny played co-leading the design of the advancement model for Ohio State and her mentorship and community involvement during her career at the university.
Ginny has announced her plans for retirement, effective September 30. She will remain on contract for several months to assist during the leadership transition. Andy Gurd, who now serves as the Alumni Association's vice president for membership and business development strategies, will assume responsibilities of the COO effective October 1.
Ginny's contributions to The Ohio State University have been many over the past 16 years, and I am thankful for her service to the Alumni Association. Please join me in thanking Ginny for her leadership, career accomplishments, and dedication to this university and please extend her your best wishes for many fulfilling years ahead. Join me, too, in welcoming Andy to his new role as chief operating officer of the Alumni Association.
