Nominating Tips
Ø Close attention should be given to the page limits that will be accepted.
Ø No More than three typed, single-spaced 8 1/2" X 11" pages for
the nominating statement and all supporting documentation. In
addition, a limit of three letters of support for your nomination
will be accepted in the form of one 8 1/2" X 11" page each.
Ø Resumes are useful for the jury to consider, especially for published
works but will be counted as a supporting document and be subject to
the page limitations listed above.
Ø Nominees must be living at the time the nomination is submitted.
Ø In the case of the Thompson Award, the person must be aged 35 or
younger in the year in which the award is given.
Ø Media items, such as DVDs, videotapes, etc. are not included in the
packages to the jury. Extra items will be kept on file with the paperwork
to use should the nominee be selected.
Ø We encourage you to re-nominate the alumnus/a, if not chosen the first
year.
Ø Nominations are kept on file for three years. The nominator may request
the same paperwork be used for two more years, before a new
nomination is required. This does not mean that you have to use the
previous year's paperwork but the option is available.
Ø Nominations are accepted in multiple categories.
