ALUMNI AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
The Alumni Association's awards program celebrated 50 years of excellence by honoring alumni and others who have brought extraordinary credit to Ohio State. On September 26, 2008, we recognized a group of people who personify Ohio State's tradition of excellence.
In addition to celebrating the wonderful accomplishments of our alumni, the Alumni Association also recognized a very distinguished alumnus by renaming the Alumni citizenship Award in honor of Robert M. Duncan.
We encourage you to nominate outstanding individuals for the 2009 Alumni Awards in the following categories:
- Ralph Davenport Mershon Award for service to Ohio State
- William Oxley Thompson Award for early career achievement
- Robert M. Duncan Alumni Citizenship Award for community service
- Professional Achievement Award for career achievement
- Dan L. Heinlen Award for university advocacy
- Josephine Sitterle Failer Award for volunteer service to students
- Alumni Medalist Award for national or international career achievement
Past honorees include leaders in international relations, science, business, the arts, education, medicine, legal affairs, and volunteer service. If you would like to learn more about past recipients visit our 2008 recipients page or our recipients archive.
The 2009 Alumni Awards nomination form is now available. The Alumni Association selects a diverse pool of Alumni Association members to serve as jurors for the awards process. Alumni participation truly distinguishes the Alumni Awards from other honors.
This year's ceremony will be on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency, 350 N. High St., Columbus.
