 Meet our Staff 

 

Jacky BennettJacky Bennett has been the director of conference and facility operations since 2000 at the Alumni House. Originally from Kent, Ohio, she moved to Columbus in 1990 and graduated from Otterbein College in 1994. Jacky has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years due to a family business in the restaurant and catering industry. Jacky oversees the building and conferencing functions of the facility and really prides herself on a welcoming and outstanding customer service oriented department. 

 

Melinda AlonsoMelinda Alonso is our operations manager and has been with us since April 2000. Melinda moved from Virginia Beach to Ohio in 1999 after completing a nine year enlistment in the Navy. She graduated from The Ohio State University, in 2004, with a degree in history of art. As operations manager, she is responsible for the daily actions of the department and managing an operations staff that assists our clients on the day of their event. Her staff is also responsible with room set-up and tear down for each event. 

 

Jennifer RussellJennifer Russell became the first-ever marketing/sales manager for the conference services department in July 2008 after working for almost three years in a student position. Originally from Canton, Ohio, Jennifer moved to Columbus in the fall of 2004 to obtain her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. She graduated in June 2008 with a degree in strategic communication. Then in September 2010, she graduated from Columbus State Community College with an associate's degree in digital design & graphics. As the marketing/sales manager, she is responsible for promoting the Alumni House to clients through various mediums and building relationships with new and existing customers.

 

Julia WolfJulia Wolf became the first full-time conference services account executive in September 2009 after working for the past two years in the student office position. Originally from Sylvania, Ohio, a suburb of Toledo, Julia moved to Columbus in 2005 to obtain her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. She graduated from the Fisher College of Business with a degree in marketing in June 2009. As the account executive, she is responsible for every aspect of the client experience from booking the event to creating invoices. She also uses her background in sales and consumer behavior to promote the alumni house to our customers.

 

Nina MurnaneNina Murnane has been with the Alumni Association since February 1994. She is one of few staff members still with the Association who made the transition from the east wing of the Fawcett Center for Tomorrow to the Longaberger Alumni House, which opened in October 1999. As the main receptionist, she gets to know the thousands of interesting people who come through our doors each year. In May of 2009, Nina became a member of the conference services department, still offering her talents as our Alumni Association receptionist.
