2. What are the benefits of membership?
Membership in the Ohio State Alumni Association is the best way to stay connected to Ohio State while supporting programs that help advance the university's academic progress. Membership also helps you expand your contacts, connects you to graduates and former students, gives you the chance to interact with Ohio State, and offers discounts and services not available to the general public.

3. Will you send me a membership application?
You'll receive a notice by U.S. mail when it's time to renew your membership.

4. What's the difference between annual membership and life membership?
Annual members pay dues each year; life members make either one lump-sum payment or fulfill their dues over a five-year payment plan period (bi-annual billing or monthly credit card payment).

  • Annual member dues: $65 Single, $70 Joint
  • Recent Grad Dues (available for up to four years after first degree): $40 Single, $45 Joint
  • Life member dues (lump sum): $1,300 Single, $1,400 Joint
  • Life Member Payment Plan: $1,365 Single, $1,470 Joint

5. What's the Life Member Plan?
The Life Member Plan is the membership catergory that allows you to pay your dues over the course of five years. A single membership is $1,365; joint membership is $1,470. Two payment plans are available:

  • Semi-annual billing: 10 equal payments billed every six months (single - $136.50 per payment; joint - $147.00 per payment).
  • Automatic Checking Withdrawal plan: funds withdrawn from your checking account for 60 consecutive months (Single - $22.75 per payment; Joint $24.50 per payment).

Scarlet Life members may also take advantage of the semi-annual billing method of 5 equal payments every six months (Single - $143 per payment; Joint - $154 per payment).

6. How am I eligible to get an application for football tickets?
If you join by March 1, you'll have the opportunity to apply for two tickets to a home football game during the upcoming season. This benefit isn't available to associate members. Actual game/seat assignment and ticket fulfillment is strictly up to the Athletics Ticket Office. Ticket application refunds may be necessary if ticket demand exceeds supply.

7. How can I get on the golf course?
Active members of the Alumni Association have two ways to play the university's golf courses: as members of the Ohio State Golf Club or as daily greens fee players. Golf Club members pay a one-time initiation fee in order to join and pay annual dues. Members of the club may reserve tee times up to five days in advance and do not pay additional fees to play. Daily greens fee players may reserve a tee time one day in advance, Monday through Friday, and the day of play on weekends and holidays. To learn more about greens fees, tee times, and Golf Cloub membership information, contact the Ohio State golf course at (614) 459-GOLF or visit http://ohiostategolfclub.com.

This benefit is not available to associate members. Only active members-those who completed 15 or more hours of course work at Ohio State are eligible for golf course privileges.

8. Can I be a member if I've attended Ohio State but not graduated--or not attended at all?
Yes, nongraduates and friends of Ohio State are eligible to join the Alumni Association.

If you've completed at least 15 hours of course work at Ohio State, you're eligible for active membership. Active members have full benefits of membership, including voting privileges for the Association board of directors as well as the opportunity to participate in the Alumni Retirement Income Plan, to apply for football tickets and golf course privileges, and to buy passes to the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) and Adventure Resource Center (ARC) campus athletic facilities.

Associate members are those who didn't graduate from Ohio State or attended for fewer than 15 credit hours.
