COLUMBUS, Ohio – Charity Bowl 2009: Students First, Students Now gives Ohio State alumni and friends the opportunity to support both current and future Buckeye students.
The Association’s bowl-game charitable effort will benefit the Students First Charity Bowl Fund (#313245). Donations to this fund will be split evenly between emergency loans and scholarships for current Ohio State students, and the Alumni Association's scholarship endowment. The Association awards multiple scholarships to Ohio State students each year.
There are two ways to support Ohio State students by donating to the Students First Charity Bowl Fund:
-
Donate online by visiting the
Charity Bowl 2009 home page. Once you reach the page, click “GIVE NOW,” then click on "Add to Gift List" and enter the amount of your donation in the box on the right
-
You can also give by sending a check to the Alumni Association. The check should be made out to "The Ohio State University Foundation" and you should note either "Charity Bowl" or "#313245" in the memo line. Mail checks to: Tony Vidmar, Senior Director of Development and Sponsorship, Longaberger Alumni House, 2200 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43210.
Past Charity Bowls have allowed Ohio State alumni and friends to turn out in strong support of philanthropic efforts. In 2007, the Charity Bowl effort to benefit the Recovery School District in New Orleans resulted in more than $67,000 being donated to the impoverished district. In 2008, the Charity Bowl effort to beat hunger helped Ohio State alumni to donate more than 72,000 meals to food pantries throughout the country.
The Alumni Association is a dues-supported organization of graduates, former students, and friends of the university with more than 120,000 members.
