NOBEL PEACE PRIZE LAUREATE TO HEADLINE HOMECOMING
Advocate for social reform and 1992 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Rigoberta Menchu will be part of Homecoming festivities this year. Menchu, a member of the Mayan Quiche tribe, was born in Guatemala where her parents and brother were tortured and killed by Guatemalan forces. She is an internationally recognized leader and advocate for social justice and human rights. Menchu will speak Monday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in Mershon Auditorium. Details about the event, co-sponsored by the Ohio State Alumni Association, are at www.homecoming.osu.edu.
The Alumni Association also sponsors the Homecoming Court, whose members join with those of the Student-Alumni Council to provide the majority of volunteers for different events during Homecoming week. The week will culminate in the Homecoming parade and pep rally on Friday night and the Homecoming Court reunion and OSU v. MSU on Saturday.
