Herb Asher, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus - Political Science Dr. Asher is a professor emeritus and counselor to the university president. In his years at Ohio State Dr. Asher served as special assistant to the university president for government relations, and founding director of the John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy. As an author and political analyst, Dr. Asher is frequently called upon to provide political commentary for the media. Debbie Black Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball Debbie Black rejoined Jim Foster's coaching staff after closing out a stellar 18-season professional career in 2005. Black, who played for Foster at St. Joseph's from 1985-88, starts her second stint as an assistant with her former mentor. She previously coached with Foster in 1999-2000 at Vanderbilt, where she helped the Lady Commodores to a 21-13 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. TOPIC: Coaching/playing stories

John Bluem Head Coach, Men's Soccer Bluem is in his 11th season at Ohio State. He has lead the Buckeyes to all four of their NCAA tournament appearances and he is Ohio State's all-time wins leader with a 111-80-26 (.563) record in Columbus. His career record, which includes six seasons at Fresno State, stands at 187-104-35 and in 16 seasons as a collegiate head coach, Bluem's teams have won at least 10 games 14 times and he has taken his teams to the NCAA tournament eight times. His 1996 Fresno State team advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals and his 2004 Ohio State squad went to the Sweet 16. Seven of Bluem's Ohio State players have been MLS draft picks.

John Brockington Former Football Player; Founder The John Brockington Foundation (CALIFORNIA EVENTS ONLY) An All-American running back at Ohio State under Woody Hayes, John Brockington was the Green Bay Packers' first pick in 1971’s NFL draft. He claimed NFC Rookie of the Year and unanimous All-Pro honors. Prompted by his own experience with dialysis and transplantation, he founded The John Brockington Foundation to raise funds for dialysis patients and combat the conditions which lead to kidney failure. Together with his wife and former teammates, the foundation began the KIN (Keeping Inside the Numbers) Campaign in South East San Diego in January 2009. To date, over 300 participants have undergone free health screenings and discussed practical ways to overcome health obstacles. Lawrence Brown Ph.D. Professor, Geography Brown began a long and distinguished career in 1966, with his dissertation on innovation diffusion. This topic examined communications technology and the adoption and geographic spread of new products and techniques from place to place. He also has worked extensively on migration and urbanization in the US and Latin America, Ecuador in particular. His current work is concerned with immigration; racial/ethnic intermixing in urban areas; housing market issues, including foreclosures; and national policies related to affordable housing. Kevin Boyle Ph.D. Distinguished Professor, Humanities Kevin teaches and writes about twentieth century American history, with a focus on civil rights, race relations, social justice, political conflict, and the labor movement. His book Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights and Murder in the Jazz Age received the National Book Award for non-fiction. He has given talks around the country, but the most exciting have been here at home: in 2007 he was named a University's Distinguished Lecturer and in December 2009 he delivered Ohio State's commencement address. He's working on a new book, The Splendid Dead: An American Ordeal, which revisits the famous Sacco-Vanzetti case of the 1920s. Lenee Buchman Head Coach, Cheerleading Lenee Buchman, who had spent the last 12 years as cheerleading coach at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, was named Ohio State’s new spirit squad head coach in June 2009. Buchman brings with her more than 17 years of collegiate coaching experience. She started her career as the head coach at her alma mater, the University of Akron, from 1992-97 before moving on to Kent State where she also earned her master of education degree in 2007. For the past four years, Buchman also has been serving as the Cheerleading Coordinator for the State of Ohio for the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators. At OASSA, Buchman shoulders a number of responsibilities, including the hiring of staff, certifying coaches, preparation for Cheer Ohio summer camps, clinics and the regional and state championships for cheerleading and dance teams in Ohio.

Dr. Tarunjit Singh Butalia Ph.D. Author, Speaker, Civil Engineer Dr. Tarunjit Singh Butalia is the Chairperson of the National Interfaith Committee of the World Sikh Council – America Region and served as the Secretary General of the organization for 2004-2005. At the national level, he represents the Sikh faith on the Presidents Council and Steering Committee of Religions for Peace – USA as its Moderator, serves on the Board of Directors of the North American Interfaith Network as its Vice-Chair, and is a member of the Board of Trustees as well as Executive Committee of the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions. He serves on the Board of Scholars and Practitioners of The Journal of Inter-Religious Dialogue. He is the President of the Interfaith Association of Central Ohio and has been a member of The Ohio State University Interfaith Association. He has served as the faculty adviser to The Ohio State University Campus Interfaith Council. He is also a member of the Religious Advisory Council of the Mayor of Columbus, Ohio.

Geoff Carlston Head Coach, Women’s Volleyball Geoff Carlston is in his second year as head coach of Ohio State. He was named the head coach of the Ohio State women’s volleyball program in February 2008. Carlston comes to Ohio State after spending five years a head coach of Ohio University where he built an outstanding program. His squads played in five NCAA tournaments, reaching regional play in 2005. At Ohio, Carlston guided the Bobcats to five consecutive Mid-American Conference championships with an overall record of 144-22. Coach Carlston earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and is a former Peace Corps volunteer.

Patrick Cherry Head Coach, Rifle From Mt Sterling, Ohio, Cherry served in the U.S. Army from 1959-62and become involved in sport parachuting at Ft Bragg and competitive rifle shooting as a member of the Fulda Germany Rod and Gun Club and the competitive rifle team of the Aviation Co, 14th Cavalry, 7th Army from 1960-62. Cherry’s rifle coaching and youth work has been recognized by The Ohio House of Representatives, The League of Ohio Sportsmen, The U.S. Army Director of Civilian Marksmanship and the national Rifle Association. Cherry was honored by the National rifle Association at the conclusion of the 2002 season with the Outstanding Service to Collegiate Shooting Sports award.

James Cotton Founder, Buck-Icon Foundation The group's mission is to provide resources for former members of the Ohio State football program to enhance their careers on a variety of levels. Cotton received his degree in sociology from Ohio State.

Donnie Darr Head Coach, Men’s Golf Donnie Darr became just the 10th head coach in the 88 year history of the Ohio State men’s golf program. Darr returns to his home state from national powerhouse Oklahoma State, where he served as assistant coach from 2006-2009. While with the Cowboys, the team extended their record of consecutive NCAA Championship appearances to 63. A 1996 Kent State graduate, Darr began his coaching career at his alma mater. He was the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s golf teams in 2001-02, and was promoted to head coach of both programs from 2002-04. Darr also served as assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma during the 2004-05 season. Commenting on the Ohio State Scarlet course, “It is a huge advantage to have a great home golf course. We’re very fortunate to have Scarlet as our home course.”

Karen Dennis Head Coach, Women’s Track & Field, Women’s Cross Country Karen Dennis was hired as head coach in July of 2005. Prior to taking over the Ohio State women’s helm, Dennis spent four seasons as a sprints and hurdles assistant for both the Buckeye men’s and women’s programs. The Detroit, Michigan native and Michigan Sate grad returned to the Midwest in 2003 following a 10-year stretch (1992-02) as head coach at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. 2009 saw significant improvement from the Ohio State women’s track and field team. After breaking in a young roster during the indoor season, Ohio State hit its stride last in the season qualifying five individuals for the NCAA championships. Among numerous accolades she was appointed head coach of the United States women’s national team that competed in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

Steven T. Devor Associate Professor Sport and Exercise Science Program, and Department of Physiology and Cell Biology, and Department of Human Nutrition Devor is a gifted teacher known for building relationships that facilitate learning via his student friendly, open door policy. In 2004, Dr. Devor was awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award from the College of Education, and in 2006 Devor was a receipeint of the university wide Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. Outside the university Dr. Devor works with two local continuing care retirement communities in Columbus, where he serves as the Director of their Health, Physical Activity, and Exercise Centers. Dr. Devor also serves as the Exercise Physiologist for the central Ohio Commit To Be Fit program, and provides all the physiological performance testing for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Devor is also an advisor to Men's Health magazine. Devor holds a Ph.D. in exercise physiology from the University of California at Berkeley and joined Ohio State in 1999. Dr. Joseph F. Donnermeyer Professor in Department of Human and Community Resource Development Donnermeyer's teaching reflects his long-term interest and research on the Amish, Ohio's largest and most visible rural religious sect. He has written numerous journal articles and books about the Amish, including A Quiet Moment in Time, Lessons for Living, and An Amish Winter Visit. Dr. Donnermeyer is currently developing two books: Tied to the Land about five contemporary, rural located religious sects (fundamentalist Mormon polygamist, Hutterites, snake-handlers, the Amish, and Christian Identity) and A History of the Amish in Ohio. Donnermeyer also serves as Chair of the Executive Council for the Ohio State Academy of Teaching. Bill Dorenkott Head Coach, Women’s Swimming The team, under second-year coach Bill Dorenkott, is still in the building stages of the program he envisions. And that vision is of competitive athletes vying for Big Ten Conference titles, racing for NCAA crowns, and with intentions on much bigger prices, such as the Olympic Games and World Championships. As a graduate of Cleveland State and previous Head Coach at Penn State, Dorenkott says, “The early steps in any journey are the least glamorous but oftentimes the most memorable. The measure of the season will be the pride, passion and resolve that was re-established inside the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

Brian Edmiston, Ph.D. Associate Professor, College of Education and Human Ecology A professor of teaching and learning, the author of three books, and the recipient of both research and teaching awards, Dr. Edmiston presents nationally and internationally on classroom drama’s potential to transform education. His 2007 digital story has been showcased by the Digital Union at Ohio State as an exemplar for how to use the medium to share research findings with non-specialist audiences. In 2009 he was the recipient of the Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award. TOPICS: dramatic approaches to transforming education; learning wisdom and ethics through drama; “If we’re not doing Shakespeare I’m not coming to school”: engaging reluctant learners with classical literature.

Carey Fagan Head Coach, Women’s Gymnastics The Ohio State women’s gymnastics program continues to climb up the rankings under the leadership of Carey Fagan. In just her sixth season at the helm, Fagan has produced two All-Americans and led the Buckeyes to four-consecutive appearances at the NCAA regional championships. "My coaching philosophy has always been to train the individual, not the Team," Fagan said. “I believe each athlete has individual needs and my role as a coach is to figure out what each person needs to be successful and to implement workouts and training techniques to help each team member reach her full potential. In the sport of gymnastics, self confidence is critical for successful performance. “

Jim Foster Head Coach, Women’s Basketball Jim Foster’s collegiate experience consists of jobs at Ohio State, Vanderbilt and St. Joseph’s (Pa.) universities. Throughout his coaching career he has posted more than 680 wins and his squads have made 24 postseason appearances. At Ohio State, he has helped the Buckeyes qualify for seven-consecutive NCAA tournaments and rank in the national Top 10 throughout the last three seasons. In the 2007-2008 season Foster recorded his 650th career win, becoming the 13th women’s coach in Division 1 to win 650 games. In 2008 the Lady Buckeyes won their 4th consecutive Big Ten tournament crown. TOPIC: Coaching stories

Robert Gary Head Coach, Men’s Track & Field, Men’s Cross Country Robert Gary is in his fourth season as the head men’s track and field coach and his 13th coaching the cross country team. Gary ended a decorated running career in 2005. In 2004, he became the fifth former Buckeye to gain a bid to two separate U.S. Olympic teams and continued running by making the finals for the 11th-straight year at the 2005 USA nationals. Gary also earned honors as a cross country athlete, winning the 2004 Track and Field News Cross Country Runner of the Year. Along with Gary’s personal accolades he has established himself as one of the nation’s elite coaches. Gary’s student athletes carry success into the classroom as well. 18 members of the 2009 track and field team were named Academic All-Big Ten, while five members of the cross country team claimed the honor.

Dale Gnidovec Curator, Orton Geological Museum For more than 20 years, Gnidovec has served as the collections manager (and now curator) of the Orton Geological Museum in the Department of Geological Sciences. Gnidovec is charged with managing a collection of over 50,000 rocks, minerals and fossils. He also cares for the museum's exhibit hall, gives guided tours and identifies rocks, minerals, fossils, and bones that are brought into the museum. As part of his efforts to educate the public about geology, Gnidovec writes a geology column in the Columbus Dispatch. TOPICS: Geology, paleontology, dinosaurs

Cornelius Green, Former football player; Coach at St. Albans School, Washington, D.C. Cornelius received his B.A in education from Ohio State in 1976. But you know him as Corny, quarterback of the Buckeye football team in the mid-1970’s. Until recently, Corny held the record for most passing yards by a Buckeye quarterback. His other honors include Captain of the Ohio State football team (1975), All Big Ten Quarterback (1974, 1975), All American Quarterback (1975), Rose Bowl MVP (1974), and Hula Bowl MVP (1976). He also played professional football for the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks. Corny’s life journey has taken him down many interesting paths, mostly involved with helping kids attain their life goals. TOPIC: “Buckeye Words of Wisdom–From the Gridiron and Beyond.”

Susan Hadley MFA, Professor, Department of Dance Susan Hadley was a professional dancer with the acclaimed Mark Morris Dance Group, Senta Driver, and Meredith Monk, and rehearsal director for Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project and Platee at the Royal Opera and Lincoln Center. She has choreographed for Hubbard Street Dance, Repertory Dance Theatre, American Repertory Ballet, BalletMet, Ballet Pacifica, Ballet Memphis, OSUDance, Drums Downtown, and Contemporary American Theatre Company. She is the recipient of the 2002 Colleges of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Teaching Award and the 2006 Ohio State Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. Pete Hanson Head Coach, Men's Volleyball Hanson is the eighth volleyball coach for the Ohio State program. In 25 years at Ohio State he has posted a 493-273 (.644) record. In 2009, the Buckeyes finished 16-11 and won the MIVA Championship with a 9-1 mark. Ohio State has won the MIVA tournament the past two seasons and participated in the NCAA Championships in 2008 and 2009. The Buckeyes have been in the NCAA Championships eight times during Hanson’s tenure. Hanson was honored as the MIVA Conference Coach of the Year. In addition to his role at Ohio State, Hanson has assisted in many USA volleyball programs during his 25 year career including the United States Men's Olympic team in Atlanta in 1996.

Therese Hession Head Coach, Women's Golf Hession enters her 19th year as head coach of the women's golf program, leading the Buckeyes to seven Big Ten championships and nine-consecutive NCAA championship appearances over that time. Her squad finished tied for sixth at the 2005 NCAA Championships with a pair of All-Americans leading the charge. The Buckeyes also won their fourth-consecutive Big Ten title, giving Hession her sixth Big Ten coach of the year accolades.

Dennis Hoobler Associate Director of Athletics and Special Assistant to the Athletic Director Dennis Hoobler has been a member of the department of athletics since April 1985, when he served as the department's first marketing director. In 1991, he became director of the Buckeye Club, the annual fund raising department of the athletics department. He was elevated to director of athletic development in 1998 and was named assistant athletic director in May 2001. Hoobler is now the associate athletics director for development and ticketing, a role he took in February 2006.

Dr. David Hothersall Professor Emeritus, Psychology Joined the faculty of the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University in 1968 and reached the rank of full professor in 1976. He has received a number of teaching awards including Ohio State’s Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching and the Colleges of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Teaching Awards. Hothersall directed the Honors Program at The Ohio State University from 1990-98. He is now a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychology. Heather Inwood, Assistant Professor, Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures Inwood teaches courses in various aspects of modern Chinese culture in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Cambridge and SOAS, the University of London. She has spent several years living, working and studying in China, where she gained experience in Chinese media by appearing on radio and TV, translating for music and sports channels, and writing a blog on cultural, social and educational matters relating to China and the UK. Her research focuses on the relationship between media and culture in the contemporary PRC, and contemporary poetry in particular. Stan Jefferson Director of Player Development (football) Stan is in his sixth year at Ohio State. He joined the Buckeye football staff in July of 2004 as the associate director of football operations. After two years in that capacity, he was named Director of Player Development in the spring of 2006. Jefferson helps orchestrate the day-to-day operations of the football program, monitors the academic progress of the student-athletes, and coordinates community relations and outreach efforts. Prior to coming to Ohio State, Jefferson spent nearly 30 years as a high school coach and administrator in Mansfield, Ohio and was one of the most respected educators in the state. Dr. Chris Kaeding Head Team Physician, Football Christopher Kaeding is in his sixth year in the dual role of Ohio State’s head team physician and director of the Ohio State Sports Medicine Center. In that capacity, Kaeding oversees a program that combines the clinical care of the student-athlete with much broader research and educational programs designed to benefit the University and the entire community. Following his residency at Northwestern, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in 1989. During his time at the Clinic, he worked with high school, and collegiate teams as well as the Cleveland Browns, the Indians and Cavaliers. As head team physician at Ohio State, he oversees a staff of nine physicians, including three surgeons, and has primary responsibility for football. TOPIC: sports medicine

Linda Kalafatis Head Coach, Women's Softball Head coach Linda Kalafatis enters her 14th season at the helm of the Buckeyes as one of the most successful coaches in the Big Ten and the NCAA. She is one of three conference coaches with more than 700 career wins, placing her among the Top 30 active coaches in the country. The Buckeyes have won 30 or more games in nine of Kalafatis’ 13 seasons in Columbus and in each of the last six seasons. A two-time Big Ten coach of the year, she has guided Ohio State to five of the program’s six NCAA tournament appearances, including its first trip to the NCAA Super Regional in 2009.

Paul Keels Play-by-play Announcer Keels, a native of Cincinnati, has been the "Voice of the Buckeyes" on The Ohio State Buckeyes Radio Sports Network for more than 12 years. He does play-by-play for football and basketball. His broadcast booth experience includes play-by-play for the Detroit Pistons, Cincinnati Bengals, and the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. Mitchell Lerner Director, Institute for Korean Studies Lerner joined the history faculty in 2000, with a specialization in modern American political and diplomatic history. He has served as a fellow at the Miller Center for Public Affairs at the University of Virginia, a faculty associate at the Mershon Center for National Security, and has held the Mary Ball Washington Distinguished Fulbright Chair in American diplomacy at University College-Dublin. His scholarly work has garnered numerous honors, including a Pulitzer nomination in 2001, and he is an officer of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations. Linda Lichter-Witter Head Coach, Synchronized Swimming Linda Lichter-Witter enters her 14th season as head coach of the Ohio State synchronized swimming team. Lichter-Witter, who opened her Buckeye career with a 1996 Collegiate National title, owns a n impressive record of 510-17-1 during 13 years. After 1996, Lichter-Witter went on to coach the Buckeyes to six additional collegiate national titles, including five-consecutive from 2000-04. Just the third head coach in the history of the sport and the second for the varsity squad at Ohio State, she has maintained the tradition of excellence in synchronized swimming. Witter came to Ohio State after six years as the head coach of Arizona State University’s club team, she took over for Mary Jo Ruggieri, who guided the Buckeyes for 25 season and led them to 17 national titles in her last 19 seasons at Ohio State.

Heather Lyke Associate Athletic Director Currently serves as associate athletic director for sport administration. She oversees 11 sports, including men's and women's fencing, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men’s and women’s lacrosse, rowing, softball and women's volleyball. Lyke also has supervision of the sport performance division of the department, which includes the strength and conditioning medical staffs, including athletic training. Lyke is a member of the NCAA Softball Rules Committee and the NCAA Amateurism Committee. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Big Ten Sports Management Committee. Lyke joined Ohio State in 1998 as an assistant athletic director for compliance services. In 2003, she was promoted to an associate athletic director and began the oversight of the camp and clinic operations, as well. A year later, she was given the additional responsibility of managing five Ohio State teams as a sport administrator.

Chuck Merzbacher Head Coach, Women’s Tennis During his 13 years as head coach of the Ohio State women's tennis team, Merzbacher has not only become the school’s winningest coach, but he has also coached two All-Americans and led the Buckeyes to a total of eight NCAA tournament appearances, including six consecutive appearances from 1999 to 2004, a first in program history. Merzbacher was the 1983 Ohio High School State Champion and a collegiate player at the University of Minnesota. Merzbacher began his coaching career after two years on the professional tennis circle.

Dee Miller Former Football Player; State Farm Insurance Agent Native to Springfield, Ohio, Dee Miller is a graduate of Springfield’s South High School. He chose to continue to his education and football career at the Ohio State University. Dee went on to become a 2nd team Big Ten award winner his junior and seniors year at the wide receiver position. After a brief NFL career, Dee returned to The Ohio State and graduated with a B.A. in Sociology in 2001. Dee is the Agent/Owner of Dee Miller’s State Farm Insurance Agency in Hilliard, Ohio. Ryan Miller Former Football Player; Co-founder m2 marketing, LLC Miller served as a linebacker from 1993-1996 and was a starting linebacker in the dramatic 1997 Rose Bowl victory. He is also the co-founder of m2 marketing which provides web solutions and a variety of marketing services to small businesses (www.m2columbus.com). In 2005, m2 launched www.coachtressel.com in association with The Ohio State University. Prior to his current position, he was a sports reporter and anchor for WBNS-10TV winning two Emmy Awards for Sports Broadcasting. He founded The 2nd & 7 Foundation in 2000 with fellow OSU teammates Mike Vrabel and Luke Fickell. Bobby Moser, Ph.D. VP, Agricultural Administration Dr. Moser is charged with heading the College's academic program, Ohio State University Extension, the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center and the Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster. Under Moser's leadership the college received a W.K. Kellogg grant to realign itself for the 21st century. He is nationally recognized for his skills as an agricultural administrator and researcher. Frank Moskowitz Founder/Publisher Buckeye Sports Bulletin Frank Moskowitz is the founder and publisher of Buckeye Sports Bulletin, a newspaper devoted to Ohio State University sports. In its 30th year of publication, BSB has a circulation of over 30,000 with subscribers in all 50 states and several foreign countries. The Washington, D.C., native is also the publisher of Reds Report, devoted to the Cincinnati Reds. Moskowitz, 58, received his M.A. in English from Ohio State in 1981.He is also a graduate of Michigan State University, receiving his B.A. in English. Before founding Buckeye Sports Bulletin, he was sports editor of The Madison Press in London, Ohio, worked for The Columbus Dispatch and was associate editor of The Buckeye Leaves. Dr. Donald Mutti Professor, College of Optometry Dr. Donald Mutti received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1982 from the School of Optometry at the University of California Berkeley. Following graduation, Dr. Mutti worked for CooperVision Ophthalmic Products, conducting in-house clinical research evaluating new contact lens designs and products. He co-holds a patent in soft contact lens design. He returned to Berkeley in 1988 as a National Eye Institute Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, receiving his Ph.D. in 1992.
Dr. Mutti is currently the E. F. Wildermuth Foundation Professor in Optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He is a co-investigator with Dr. Karla Zadnik on the Collaborative Longitudinal Evaluation of Ethnicity and Refractive Error (CLEERE) Study, a National Eye Institute funded study of normal eye growth and risk factors for myopic refractive error now in its twentieth year. Dr. Mutti was also the Principal Investigator of the Berkeley Infant Biometry (BIBS) study, an eight year NEI-funded investigation of ocular component development and emmetropization in infancy. This study determined the timeline for the development of the optical and physical anatomy of the infant eye.This information will hopefully inform practitioners on the appropriate timing of infant examinations and the range of age-normal refractions. Nick Myers Head Coach, Men’s Lacrosse Nick Myers has been the head coach for the Ohio State men’s lacrosse team since 2008. He was named to the head position after three seasons as the top assistant for the Buckeyes. In his first season he led the squad to the Great Western Lacrosse League championship game, with several Buckeyes earning all-league honors. Continuing the “Showdown in the Shoe,” Ohio State surpassed its own national men’s lacrosse records for regular-season and on campus attendance set in 2008 when it took on No. 3 Notre Dame in front of 30,192 fans April 25, 2009 in Ohio Stadium. Myers played for Springfield College in Massachusetts, earning Division III All-America honors in 2001. He was a three-time All-NEWMAC selection and was the 2000 conference player of the year. Myers graduated from Springfield with a degree in sports studies/physical education in 2001.

Vladimir Nazlymov Head Coach, Fencing Now in his eighth season at Ohio State, head Coach Vladimir Nazlymov has transformed the Buckeye fencing program into a national powerhouse. Five consecutive years among the top four programs in the nation, including a national championship in 2004, are proof of that. But this former 10-time world champion would like to build the program into an an Olympic feeder program and increase the number of national championships. Nazlymov also made a tremendous impact on the fencing world during his storied playing career, winning three Olympic medals for the Soviet Union.

Vince Panzano Head Coach, Diving Panzano is a 1973 graduate of Ohio State. He began his coaching career at the University of Tennessee in 1973 and returned to his alma mater in 1978. Panzano has been a coach at Ohio State for 33 years. In his 37 years as a Division 1 coach, Panzano has produced one world champion, one junior world champion, two Olympic medalists, 23 US diving champions, 12 NCAA champions, 16 NCAA runners-up, 54 Big Ten champions and 79 all-Americans. Panzano also coached Ohio State and McDonald’s diving to six national team titles. He has had divers on five of the last six Olympic teams.

Tom Ryan Head Coach, Wrestling In just three seasons of work, Coach Ryan has led Ohio State wrestling to back-to-back second-place finishes at the NCAA Championships, an accomplishment that earned him the 2009 National Coach of the Year honor. In one of the tightest team races in recent NCAA wrestling history, Ohio State earned its second-consecutive runner-up finish in 2009 with 92 points, trailing Iowa by just four and a half points. Academically, Ryan's Buckeyes have excelled in the classroom. In 2009, six Ohio State student-athletes were named Academic All-Big Ten. During his wrestling career, Ryan was a two-time NCAA Division I All-American for Iowa as a member of the Hawkeyes' 1991 and 1992 national and Big Ten championships teams. He also was a two-time Big Ten champion in 1991 and 1992.

Ian M. Sheldon, Ph.D. Professor, Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics Sheldon received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Salford, U.K., in 1981. He served as a lecturer in economics at the University of Exeter in the U.K. from 1982 to 1990, before becoming a professor at the Ohio State University in 1990, where he is now the Andersons Professor of International Trade. He has published widely in the fields of economics and agricultural economics with a focus on trade and policy issues, and recently completed a four-year term as an editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. Rick Smith Former basketball player; President of Smith Realty Partners A graduate of Ohio State, Rick served as Captain of the Ohio State men’s basketball team in 1979. James Sweeney Head Coach, Pistol James Sweeney has been involved in shooting sports for over 30 years. He is an active competitor and besides college coaching, directs the State of Ohio Internal Pistol Championships as well as leagues in air gun, action pistol and bulls eye. Sweeney is a retired professor of sports pedagogy from Ohio State. He was the Ohio State men’s varsity assistant gymnastics coach from 1960-62, the men’s varsity gymnastics head coach at Washington State University from 1962-66 and the men’s varsity gymnastics head coach at Ohio State from 1966-77. Sweeney was named the NRA Distinguished Coach of Year at the National Collegiate Championship in 2000. He is an avid participator in shooting, archery, canoe racing , hydroplane racing, gymnastics and acrosports.

Ty Tucker Head Coach, Men's Tennis Tucker, the 2009 National Coach of the Year, has lifted the Ohio State men’s tennis team to elite status. Since his inaugural season in 1999-00, Ohio State has four Big Ten Conference regular-season titles and five league tournament titles, including four-consecutive from 2006-09. In NCAA action, Tucker and the Buckeyes have compiled a 22-10 record, advancing to the program’s first national championship final last year at the 2009 NCAA Championships. Bill Wadley Head Coach, Men's Swimming The men's swimming and diving team has been one of the most successful Buckeye athletic programs for 60 years, the past 19 under the guidance of head coach Wadley. He has coached 13 Olympians and his teams have been ranked in the NCAA Top 25 for 13 of the past 17 seasons. Wadley coached the only double gold medalist in both the 1987 and 1993 World University Games for the United States. Dr. Susan Wagner, Professor, Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Susan Wagner is a board certified veterinary neurologist whose pioneering studies acknowledge the spiritual interaction between people and animals. She blends science, spirituality and the wisdom of the animal kingdom. Dr. Wagner is a much sought after public speaker in the areas of music therapy for animals, energy theory, healing and spirituality.
She received her DVM from the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as a MS in Veterinary Clinical Sciences and board certification in veterinary neurology. Dr. Wagner recently co-authored a book entitled Through a Dog's Ear: Using Sound to Improve the Health and Behavior of Your Canine Companion, and was research director for the Through A Dog's Ear CD series. Lori Walker Head Coach, Women's Soccer Walker has held the role of head coach for 13 of the 16 seasons since Ohio State women's soccer's inception in 1993. Last year she earned her 150th career win en route to her fifth NCAA tournament as a coach and now owns a lifetime record of 154-129-23. Walker is a 1994 graduate of the University of North Carolina. She was a member of three national championship teams and lost only one match in her four-year collegiate career. Jonathan N. Waters Assistant Director, The Ohio State University Marching and Athletic Bands He received his Bachelors of Music Education degree from Ohio State in 1999. Serving as Graduate Assistant Director for the Marching Band, he earned two masters degrees, one in Music Education and another in Wind Band Conducting, from Ohio State in 2001.
Waters' duties include writing shows, rehearsing, and conducting The Ohio State University Marching Band, and the Athletic Bands. Within the School of Music, Waters also teaches Undergraduate Introductory and Secondary Instrumental Conducting, Brass Methods, and Marching Band Techniques. He also conducts the University Concert Band. Additionally, Waters is the Co-Director of the Ohio State University Marching Band Alumni. Waters has served as clinician and guest conductor for numerous middle school, high school, and cofllege band and band festivals in Ohio and throughout the nation.

Kristin L. Watt, Current Women's Basketball Commentator and Former Player Kristin Watt has been a color commentator for Ohio State women's basketball team since 1987. She played for the team herself from 1981 to 1985 - on a team that won four Big Ten Championships. She was co-captain her senior year. Kristin has served four years on the Ohio State Athletic Counsel, served as President of the Varsity O Women's Alumni Society and sat on its Board for a decade. She is a partner at the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP and practices environmental law in their Columbus office.

Anne Wilkinson Head Coach, Field Hockey Head Coach Anne Wilkinson is in her 14th season at the helm of the Ohio State field hockey program and in her 23rd season overall as a head coach. She brings an abundance of experience to the field, having coached over 400 career games and earned Big Ten Coach of the Year and NFHCA West Region Coach of the Year honors in 2006. Under Wilkinson’s guidance, the buckeyes have garnered numerous awards in the classroom. The Buckeyes have earned 51 NFHCA National Academic Squad awards, 72 Academic All-Big Ten selections, 92 Ohio State Scholar-Athletes accolades and two Big Ten Medal of Honor recipients. At the developmental level, Wilkinson is the director of the prestigious all-American Field Hockey Camps, Inc. For 18 years she has been the head of the summer camps, which now are held annually at Ohio State.

Miechelle Willis Senior Associate AD Student Services & Sports Administration Willis, in her 16th year at Ohio State, was promoted to senior associate director of athletics in February 2006. She serves as a member of the Department of Athletics executive leadership team and serves as the senior woman administrator to the NCAA and the Big Ten Conference. Jon Woods, Ph.D. Director, The Ohio State University Marching Band Woods has served as director of the marching band for more than 20 years, the longest of anyone to hold this position. A nationally known clinician on marching band techniques and show design, he frequently travels around the country serving as an adjudicator for band competitions. During his tenure as director, the band has been awarded the Sudler Trophy, was featured in USA Today and "Hang On Sloopy" was named the official rock song of Ohio. Dr. Judy Tzu-Chun Wu Associate Professor, History Judy Tzu-Chun Wu joined the department of history in 1997. She teaches courses in modern U.S. history, women's history, American race relations, immigration and the 1960s, the U.S. West, and Asian American History. She received the Ohio Stae Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award in 2002. She previously coordinated the Asian American Studies Program at Ohio State and sponsored the 2005 Japanese American oral history project. Professor Wu is the author of Dr. Mom Chung of the Fair-Haired Bastards: The Life of a Wartime Celebrity (University of California Press, 2005), a biography of Dr. Margaret Chung, the first American-born Chinese female physician and a behind-the-scenes political broker during World War II. Professor Wu is currently studying the travels of American antiwar activists to Asia and Canada during the U.S. War in Vietnam.
