The Student-Alumni Council, or SAC, held its first meeting in 1980, when 60 students gathered under a unifying focus "to better the Ohio State University through student-alumni involvement." Since that day, SAC has grown to an organization with 100 active and outstanding members, who work to advance the Ohio State University. SACers have a deep love for Ohio State–and this passion is something they hope to create in all students.
Student-Alumni Council members work on a variety of different projects–planning the Homecoming Pep Rally and Commencement Tailgate, working as hosts for the Alumni Leaders Conference in the fall, selling Beat T-Shirts for football games, coordinating the Dinners for 12 Buckeyes program to bring together six students, three alumni and three faculty members for dinner and an opportunity to form connections under a unifying academic or extracurricular focus, organizing SAC: Paying it Forward programs throughout the year to inspire a positive culture at Ohio State.
As a member of the Association of Student Advancement Programs (ASAP), SAC has been honored on the national level for outstanding work in the development of student involvement in educational advancement.
SAC is a student organization highly committed to continually serving as the connection between students and alumni and working to support the Alumni Association at the University.
